- Clean Iron With Toothpaste
If you’re using tap water in your iron, eventually you’ll end up facing the dreaded mineral build up on the soleplate. Luckily, all it takes is a little bit of toothpaste to make it look brand spanking new again.
Simply rub a small amount of toothpaste (the white stuff, not the gel) on to the soleplate of a cool, unplugged iron. Then wipe off the toothpaste with a clean slightly damp cloth. Repeat as necessary, and allow the soleplate to dry before ironing.
