With the party season just over, it’s time to get back to your routine, keeping your New Year Resolution of owning a toned body in mind. Vedvrat lists down the exercises to slim you down.
Inline hip twist
Place your hands shoulder length apart on the seat of your chair and walk your feet back to a plank position, bracing your abs in tight. Use your core to lift your hips up slightly and then rotate your left hip down to tap the edge of the seat lightly, pivoting on your toes. Lifts your hips and return to the centre. Repeat alternate sides each time, for a total of 20 reps.
Crescent knee sweep
Sit on the edge of your chair, hands outside of hips on the edge of the seat. Press your knees together, bring your legs to the right corner of the chair and lift your heels. Brace your abs in tight and lift your legs and trace a half circle so that your legs land at the left corner of the chair. Repeat alternate sides each time, for a total of 20 reps.
Standing side crunch
Stand with your feet 3-4 feet apart, toes slightly turned out and hands on your hips. Lower into a pliƩ by bending your knees out over your toes and lowering your hips directly underneath your shoulders. With your back straight, slowly lift the right knee up towards the right shoulder. As you go back into the pliƩ, slowly return the foot to the floor. Repeat each side at least 10 times.
